How does watercolor work on illustration board? I haven't tried that yet. :)I mainly use cold press. This is insanely beautiful. :)

Watercolor acts a bit different on illustration board than watercolor paper. On watercolor paper, it 'absorbs' and is harder to lift (depending on the type of paper). On illustration board, it soaks in only a little bit and mostly sits on top of the board. This makes lifting much easier, but the downside is it's harder to layer because it tends to bring up the previous layer very easily.

I use watercolor paper now instead of illustration board, but there are pros and cons to both. :)

Oh my goodness. This is stunning! Everything about it flows so beautifully. The colors blend, the birds have life. If I only had the money... Hmm. Christmas is nearing. I know what I'm going to hint at. ;)

way more advanced! Well we may have different styles with watercolor painting, but yet I would never do image like you did with only watercolors.

One day, I would love to do art trade with you! XD

I suppose it just depends on what our individual definitions of 'advanced' are. :giggle: I personally love the detail and use of color in your work.

An art trade would be great someday! :) When I'm not up to my eyeballs in work I'd love to do one.

I painted this about 2 years ago using Windsor and Newton Cotman watercolors. However, now I'm starting to phase out the Cotmans with the regular Windsor and Newton pigments.
