Artist's Comments

An ancient Norse legend tells of Yggdrasil, the World Tree. On this tree lived four stags, who ate of the bark. There was an eagle on the top, and between its eyes sat a falcon. Beneath the ground was a serpent, chewing on the roots in hopes to kill the tree, and a squirrel ran from the serpent to the eagle, exchanging insults from each.

This was raised from a 20 gauge sheet of bronze, approximately 10 inches across. I designed the bottom through chasing and repoussé. The 'tarnished' look was achieved with liver of sulphur, and then I used pumice and steel wool to get the raised portions to a shine.

Pure coolness! Talk about the "old ways"! This is wonderful! And your skill really does show. I'm very impressed with this kind of stuff, and this is no exception. The myth is well-thought out, and the knotwork matches perfectly. Wonderful!

That is so incredible... That not only you could design something like this but actually *make* it is so awesome! You are so blessed with talent. I would love to make my char's full outfits but I wouldn't know where to begin on the armor and weapons....
(I'm a seamstress so it's not a complete pipe dream)

magnifcent! As much as I love your 2D artwork (fan of birds and feathers after all) it's your metalwork for which i watch and wait

please do! I really love your metalwork.

Though I can see why the scrap ones are in the scraps. On the other hand, they are cool enough to deserve re-doing. (just a little asymetrical) My favorite is the bird
