Wanderlust

The falcon wanders the earth in search of paradise, from which she was cast long ago by the gods.

My second attempt at oils. This started off as an acrylic painting, but once I discovered oils I couldn't go back. Most of the middle-ground forest is acrylic, and the rest of the painting is oils. And please forgive the quality of the image...I had to photograph it and I swear lighting and my camera are mortal enemies.

The landscape is from a photo I took while in Germany. Any of you who have been in Neuschwanstein castle may recognize the view...minus the falcon, of course. Unfortunately, the only printer I have access to is a black and white one, so I had to recreate the colors in my head. I think it turned out fairly successful.
