So skilled are the graceful wings of falcons, it's as if they could paint the sky with each feathered tip.

This painting was partially inspired by the quote of a falconer whose blog I read -

"Goshawks are water. Falcons are air and hot stone. Goshawks are water and wood." -- Helen Macdonald

This, obviously, would be the 'air and hot stone.' The next painting, predictably, will be the goshawk.

Watercolor on hot-press Arches, 5X9 inches

Curious... The slightly folded right wing and the fully extended left wing; is the falcon relying on lift asymmetry to actuate a right roll by shifting its aerodynamic center of lift left of its center of gravity?

I don't think physics have a place in this picture :3

I love the details of your landscapes, your background. That make the drawings look very pretty, very great! :)

Really gorgeous work. I love the way the movement of the wings echoes in the rock and sky.

Wow... incredible job! I love the story behind this, and the falconer's quote as inspiration. It's a beautiful thing to see such a creature of grace paint the heavens with her wingtips.
Keep it up! :)
