Recently, I have become obsessed with The Phantom of the Opera, and I started playing around with an idea for a picture. I had this pose in my mind, and the characters. I keep seeing it as a doujinshi-style cover or something. *tries to escape muse pouring ideas into her head*
For the Phantom, I saw Android #42, for Christine, I saw Vitani, and for Raoul, I saw Zorn. Call me crazy, but those three characters just seemed to fit the parts.
This isn't any particular scene...I suppose it would be when the Phantom is pulling Christine through the mirror (I am your Angel...come to me: Angel of Music...), but then, Raoul wouldn't be there grasping at her (since he was locked out of the room).
Then again, the Phantom wasn't an android, and Christine and Raoul weren't saiya-jins
So, artistic license abound!

Hey, you still know I think this is fantastic. I'd have to use words like... amazing... slending... magnificent to describe this. Fancy stuff, you know. Personally, I think you make 42 a great Phantom. He has the look, he has the sneer, he has the cape (he can really sing, too, he's supposed to have a musical voice). Oh, and I like how his cape fades into nothing...
Great job with the others, too. I can see Zorn yelling "No, let her go, you damn ghost!" And Vitani just.... staring blankly. It's great, the whole thing. And I keep forgetting what you use to color just because you're so darn good at it... Keep up the great work. Well, how could you do otherwise, right?
yeees like Whosit said..the way you've got 42 sneering and the fading cape..he particularly suits the part well. Is this all in copics? It's so amazing how you made it fade into white like that! I can't get my markers to do that no matter how hard I try. It's amazing! So on my favs it goes^^

Beautiful, and I'm a Phantom freak, so I love it even more It reminds me of several scenes at once, Angel of Music definitely, as you said. But also of a lot of the confrontation at the end... sadly I can't remember what I mean because I just learned that I've apparently lost my Phantom of the Opera CD
But anyway, this is really beautifully done. I absolutely love #42 as the Phantom, it suits him quite nicely. I love his expression, the way he's drawing his cloak around her, and the shading on the lower part of the cloak is really great to look at, I love it espescially because it's the opposite of the typical 'fading into the black background' thing, though that looks awesome too.
Vitani's expression is really great as well. I love Christine, but there's something that really irks me about the rather pathetic aspects of her character, the way she just gets pulled about and manipulated. But it's not a bad thing, it works so well, and I love it, and you've captured that so well in Vitani's expression. I'm just thankful that Phantom of the Opera doesn't get into those stupid 'close call' love triangle things where you overhear only part of your beloved's conversation and think she hates you... or similar bad timing situations that drag on through the whole thing ^^ But then, I'm rambling.
Mmmm, cape folds. Well this is going to content me for a while to stare at, I just love that. The point where all three of them intersect at Vitani's hip, with the delicious folds of the cape accentuating her figure and drawing her into the darkness, and the stark light accentuating it all. And as I've kind of already said, I love that fact that it isn't all gloom and shadow, the cloak, the mirror, it's the white parts that become more fearful ^_^
But now I'm wandering into Heart of Darkness territory... I'll just fav this and shut up.
Oh, and incidentally the scene I can't remember the name for near the end is mainly that one line by Raoul: You can't win her love by making her your prisoner
I think it's actually part of the graveyard scene isn't it? They're both calling to her, and she keeps slipping in and out of a trance, moving towards the Phantom but being brought to her senses briefly by Raoul's calls.
Hehehe, actually, Android #42 is the guy on the left, playing the Phantom. Vitani is the woman in the middle playing Christine. Heheh, I'm glad you think she's hot, though.
Awwwwwww! I'm sorry about your CD!!! That's terrible news.
Thank you for the lovely comment, though! ^_^ It's comments like this that make my day.
Heh, and I know what you mean by Christine and her weak will. However, it's sort of a fun aspect. And of course, it's fun to turn Vitani from a fierce assasin to an entranced singer
By the way, I'm typing this from under my bed, since I know Vitani's currently on a search to kill me for drawing her in a dress.
I tried to capture that "inferno of white light" in the mirror, and, with ~ captain-whosit 's suggestion, made the background a bit misty.
