Two simple little trinkets I made for my final project for Design class. Our assignment was to design something 3D, whether it be a sculpture, woodworking, clay, wire, cardboard, anything as long as it was tangibly 3D.

I decided to make something out of metal, seeing as how I had leftover metal and stones and wanted to use them before I...graduate and leave Rocky ;_;

Fire Falcon was supposed to be sterling and brass but I was an idiot and grabbed copper instead. @_@ Once brass gets oxidized, it's hard to tell it apart from copper unless you file an edge and look for a yellowish color. And it's damn near impossible to tell it apart from bronze unless you anneal them both and quench them. If it hardens, it's brass. If it anneals, then it's bronze...if you're lucky. Certain kinds of bronze act more like brass and some act more like copper when you anneal them. Anywho, it's copper and that's fine.

Chaos Feathers was...a soldering miracle. I mean it. I usually have the worst luck in the world when it comes to soldering. This has 6 points of solder and they all came out perfectly. I so thought this piece was going to be a failure, but alas. Luck.

I might use these as 'panel decorations' around my art at DragonCon. Little danglies always catch the eye.
