The Avaden don't need fancy gems or paints for their masks. The trees give them the perfect adornments that rival the luxurious masquerades of the fair peoples of the ground. Of course, their parties and balls are far different than the elaborate events of finery and wealth. Their dances take place not on polished stone floors, but on moss-wrapped branches and among the dappled leaves.
A very interesting spin on things, Brenda. Was this, by any chance, an inspiration from those Gryphon and Autumn Bird masks you were making? The green, yellow and orange hues to the piece give it a strong woodland feeling. I particularly like the headdress on the Avaden woman to the right. Good job on using the leaves for masks! They must have searched for a while to find ones that were just right. Finally, congratulations on making the cloth look real. That is very difficult to do properly!
Aww this is really cute, Brenda! I love the vibrant lively personality of these two. The one in the back makes me giggle the way she's peeking through the leaf. Those types of leaves do make perfect masks, don't they? Reminds me a bit of the 'green man' concept.
And wow 5x10? Lots of detail packed in! The hint of light reflected in the skin of the foreground figure is a very nice touch. Your figures keep on improving
