Many people think golden eagles are mostly one color, but in truth their feathers have a lot of variation. Even more so with young golden eagles, who still have patches of white under their wings and tails. The 'traditional' eagle tail feathers that many people think of, which are white tipped with dark brown or black - are from young golden eagles. This I think is also the first pair of leather wings that I've made from the underside rather than the top! (Edit: I've made one before - an osprey! :D
Made from 7-oz leather with a 2-oz. top layer, hand-painted with acrylics.
