As some of you may know, I received my M.F.A. in illustration this year, and part of the requirement for a Master's degree is the thesis. For illustration students we had several options. I chose to do a research paper with an illustrative portion. My thesis, titled An Illustrative Exploration of Birds of Prey in History and Culture
, looked at the historical place of birds of prey as well as their place in art.
From the paintings I did, I wanted to create a calendar. In this calendar are all 10 paintings, as well as two studies. If you would like to see all the paintings you can see them here: [link]
The format of these pages includes a short description of the bird and its significance in human culture.
As I have done for the past few years, I am going to offer a calendar special. I will take orders for these until the beginning of December. If you order a calendar directly from me, I will include a small pen drawing
and I will sign the calendar. But remember, you have to order it directly from me, otherwise I wouldn't have any way of signing it D:
