Love the bright blue--makes the peregrine markings even more striking than usual, plus it's light enough to see the details. I think doing the eye in brown instead of orange keeps it the right tone (bright orange or yellow with the blue would be a little overwhelming). I'm amazed at the precise detail you're able to get from watercolors. Beautiful piece--I think it captures the fierce, arrogant, yet dignified nature of a peregrine, and it's very beautiful.
A wonderful painting. I think you have accomplished a free flowing, natural blending of color, with your washes. I wish, for composition, that the talons didn't touch the bottom of the edge. The few sharp edges are gorgeous with the soft washes as contrast. The shapes are perfect and the color choices are dynamic. A really nice art work. Thank you for inspiring and sharing your vision, beautiful!
Thanks! It was really hard for me to keep the loose parts and not add a ton of detail to them! I kept feeling like the piece was unfinished, but eventually I accepted that it was okay to leave areas loose
Sometimes watercolours can have a mind of their own, which if you ask me, is pretty awesome sometimes! Yields such cool results, like you've gotten here! Cool textures and especially love the colour range here, blues and purples. <3
