Your work just absolutely floors me! It's honestly my favorite I've scene on DA. The color palettes you use, defined line work, and flowing composure are just captivating. I have a passion for birds in art and oh how I wish I owned one of these!! Amazing work... speechless.
This is stunning, I just love the detail in this! Its amazing what someone like you can do with watercolors. I love how the more colorful bird's feathers look to be disolving, while the bigger, golden birds (crown?) makes him look magnificent and bold. <3 Love this piece.
I love the sweeping strokes of the background, and how the little specks of light reinforce the illusion of movement. The detail and colors are just wonderful; I really can't say anything else about them.
You know, usually I'm drawn to the technical skill with which you pull these kinda of drawings off - the subtle use of the colours, the composition and the lines within the image. But in this case, the face of the golden eagle totally draws me in. There's something very mentor-like about it, it feels strong yet gentle. And it's just echoed by the softer expression on what I would read as a younger bird's face. Gorgeous work, as ever, you really make these multi-coloured dream birds your own.
I love how, despite giving the raptor in the foreground brighter colors than one would see naturally in such a bird, you've avoided making it look entirely "tropical" and unrealistic, by keeping the colors on a subdued-by-comparison level. It's subtle, and lovely.
Thanks! That's something I'm trying to steer away from - making things super-saturated. I'm trying to work with graying down colors and thus pushing attention towards more vibrant spots, instead of the whole thing being super colorful.
interesting text to the amazing picture, so i guess they are a pair, facing utter darkness but spending each other comfort nevertheless. i must say of all your drawings this golden yellow hawk strikes me most impressive, his design, color patterns and character are magnificent
