Artist's Comments

"Even as a little girl, I have never felt comfortable in the human towns. I feel claustrophobic in houses....threatened under the towering, grinning faces of people. Perhaps that was what pushed me away from them all.

I know I wasn't supposed to be around there. 'They'll snatch you away! You will never escape from them!' That's what they said about the Faeries whenever I ran off to visit the oaks. I would never say it for fear of being accused of 'mouthing off' but truthfully, I
wished they would take me away. A world of trees and flowers...no greedy men...no sneering women...no ugliness.

She was my only friend. The graceful woman with hidden wings who taught me all I know about twisting and forging metals.

She taught me everything about creating beauty from a lump of something cold and formless.

Perhaps if she hadn't died she could have done the same with me.
"

peeerty, like how the feathers are coming from her hand
:iconladydove7:
she's molting!XD Just kidding..you know I love the graceful effect of those feathers and leaves swirling about. She looks so elegant and strong. Your description is simply beautiful on this one..so very fitting for an outcast. I love the frayed ends to the cloth and the embroidery in the trimmings. They give it a very down to earth touch. Cant wait to see more of your stuff from watercolor class! It's very exciting:D

Keee...so pretty. I love the mixed greens and yellows in the skirt-thing she's wearing, and all of the earthlyredgold tones in this...reminds me of autumn and dust motes through the sunlight. :D Cool swirliness and feathers flying from her hand too...and I rather like the written bit you put there. Sounds like a book excerpt.

Beautiful! It is amazing the talent you have...just the right blends of color...such detail of feathers, clothes and hair. The words are lovely. :) A+ :)

Yaaay *_* I wanted it to have a slightly autumn feel. There's a lot of symbolism in this, and autumn is one of those symbols ^^
